This could be from 1995, but let's call it circa 1996 to be on the safe side. It's the earliest image of the site that I have, but I'm not sure whether this was the first version of the site. Probably not. The first version was likely (even) more primitive.
The sidebar would disappear during the next update and wouldn't return for about five years. It was probably an HTML frame, the scourge of the early web.
